Going Home to Long Island "Fall" 2008
As we set out on our journey from Edison NJ to Port Jefferson on Long Island we drove right through NYC which with the Traffic was a longer way to go. We then came out of the Midtown Tunnel and went out on the LIE, the Long Island Expressway also know as 495.. Driving in NYC and on the expressway are definitly an adventure. I had so much fun showing Michael all that there is on the way.
Visiting the east coast and going to see the home I grew up in, always brings back memories that are a part of who I am today. For me taking Michael to see where I grew up for the first time was a very enlightening experience. Also when I moved to California from North Carolina the dog I got during a hard time in my life, that I had for three years, is now with friends on the Island and I got to see him. Nothing prepares us for all that life throws at us and it is all a part of our journey to consiciousness through awareness that gives us the knowledge and wisdom we seek to find our true selves within. I feel blessed for every experience, good and bad, I have had through my life for it has taught me so much.
